The Westport Weston Family YMCA celebrated an important milestone in the construction of its new 54,000 square foot facility at its Mahackeno campus: On Wednesday, July 31, 2013 work crews from United Steel “topped off” the building by installing the crowning piece of steel within the structure’s framework.
The 20-ft. steel beam put in place had been signed by YMCA staff, volunteer leaders, major donors to its capital campaign, and the Y’s construction partners in the $38.5 million project to build a modern new center of health, wellness and fellowship for our community.
Earlier this spring Elizabeth and Brian Hourihan hosted an evening at their home to benefit this exciting new facility.
